APPRENTICESHIPS |
AN OPPORTUNITY TO EARN WHILE YOU LEARN!
If you are aged 16 -18 and have just left full time education, you'll want to learn skills that improve your job prospects and give you satisfaction at work. Apprenticeships give you an opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst working. An apprentice receives training on the job, earns a wage and where appropriate attends day release.
Apprenticeships are available at two levels. An Apprenticeship is at level 2 and an Advanced Apprenticeship is at level 3. A full Apprenticeship framework consists of an NVQ, key skills qualifications (which give you the skills to become an effective employee in any job, like communication and problem solving) and finally, a Technical Certificate qualification which gives you all the knowledge you need about your job and your industry.
All applicants for Apprenticeships are assessed and advised which is the most appropriate course for them. Anyone can apply to do an Apprenticeship; there are no entry requirements. However, if you feel you are not ready for an Apprenticeship and need more training and support before you start, then the Pre-Apprenticeship (e2e) programme is for you. |
